This component may mature to epithelial cells (renal tubes in nephroblastoma), neuronal patterns (neuroblastoma), skeletal tissue (pleuropulmonary blastoma), or muscular tissue (nephroblastomas), etc.

Due to their infrequency and sometimes morphologic similarity to more common round cell tumors, they are not always considered as differential diagnostic possibilities.
