,On the Complex Pathogenesis of Sjögren’s Syndrome: Salivary Gland Epithelial Cells and Cells of thenes and their expression by cells of the innate and adaptive immune systems are put into context with pathophysiological processes. Patients with pSS demonstrate an upregulation of type 1 interferon-inducible genes in salivary glands and peripheral blood cells. Also, the microenvironment of salivary gland epithelial cells will be reviewed.
