New Directions in 4-Manifold Theory,tten Theory which have not yet appeared. In Lecture 2, I will discuss the invariants of Seiberg and Witten and their use in proving the ‘Immersed Thorn Conjecture’. In Lecture 3, I will talk about the problem of realization of intersection forms and the 11/8 Conjecture (still unsolved).
