Earlier approaches are generalized in this development by restricting neither the number of interfering waves nor the ratios between their delay times. It is assumed only that the number of interfering waves is finite.

Shear Waves Reflected from a Thin High-Speed Layeren paid to the PS wave reflected from the boundary at 280-m depth (t.), inasmuch as quite good data were obtained for it. We have studied the PS wave from the layer at 1350-m depth (t.) to a lesser extent.
