Ocean Spreading, enches and continental edges, as Hess and Dietz thought as early as 1961. It has been seen in Figures 23 and 24 that linear anomalies are there observed which would represent the final stage of anomalies parallel to the ridges.

Results of Magnetic Measures at Sea. Transverse Fractures, in 1958, then Mason and Raff in 1961 revealed curious parallel anomalies (Figure 13), and concluded .from the sharpness of their edges that they originated in magnetic masses at not over 3 km depth. We begin however as before by considering the mid-Atlantic ridge its regions with a median valley, that is, almost throughout its length.

Recent Progress, able tool of tectonic thinking, although it requires caution in application to small scale systems. Geophysicists are making way for geologists, and regional studies are becoming so numerous that they can only be mentioned as examples.
