Design and Analysis of Screening Experiments with Microarrays,pproaches to sample size determination. The first approach is based on the concept of reproducibility, and the second uses a Bayesian decisiontheoretic criterion to make a trade-off between information gain and experiment costs. Finally some of the open problems in the design and analysis of microarray experiments are discussed.

Screening for the Important Factors in Large Discrete-Event Simulation Models: Sequential Bifurcatils. Various different assumptions underlying the sequential bifurcation technique are discussed, including the role of first- and second-order polynomial regression models to describe the response, and knowledge of the directions and relative sizes of the factor main effects.
