Submillimeter Laser Lines in Deuterated Methyl Fluoride, CD3f,Although methyl fluoride CE.F, was the first molecule to be used in a submillimeter optically pumped laser (1), it was not until comparatively recently that Tobin, Sattier and Wood (2, 3) reported laser action in deuterated methyl fluoride, CD3F. Among the lines they discovered two are amongst the strongest so far observed in lasers of this type.
