Supporters and Advocatesns for engaging in such work are considered, as well as the impact it may have on supporters’ or advocates’ own lives. Whilst such work can be extremely rewarding, it can also come at personal cost, e.g. in terms of secondary trauma. Ways forward are explored in order to promote good practice in safeguarding those who undertake such activity.
