St Patrick’s Day: Commemoration, Conflict and Conciliation, 1903–2013 since the 1970s there have been significant changes, both north and south, in how St Patrick‘s Day has been marked. There have been strong efforts to make the event more pluralist and attractive to all communities. Once again, St Patrick‘s Day is celebrated widely in both parts of Ireland.
