Heatsinks,To electronic engineers a heat sink is a piece of metal constructed in a particular manner to which a semiconductor device is usually attached and which acts mainly as a heat drain. Thus the term sink is something of a misnomer — heat dissipator or heat radiator might more accurately describe its function.
