Behaviour of a Buoyant Surface Jet in a Crossflow,. From an engineering point of view, the trajectory of the jet, as well as the temperature or concentration fields, are usually the most relevant aspects. In this paper, experimental results are analysed, leading to the proposal of semi-empirical solutions for the case of a jet in a crossflow.云状 发表于 2025-3-25 07:53:57

A Discrete Vortex Model of a 2-D Turbulent Jet,uces the formation of large-scale coherent structures, but the vortices tend to accumulate in the simulation. This can be overcome by adding a small co-flowing velocity. The profiles of mean velocities agree reasonably well with those predicted by an eddy viscosity model, although the centreline velfoppish 发表于 2025-3-25 23:18:09

Laboratory and Numerical Experiments on the Dilution of Buoyant Surface Plumes, series of laboratory experiments where the downstream development of suitable plume scales are measured, and a similar series of numerical experiments with a 3-D turbulence model. The results from both type of experiments are combined in a simple integral model where the dilution is described as theCLOT 发表于 2025-3-26 06:59:32

Prediction of Mean and Fluctuating Scalar Fields in Buoyant Jet in Cross-Flow Problems, streams. Turbulence closure is effected using both two-equation eddy viscosity and second-moment closure transport models, with noticeable improvements in predictive accuracy for mean scalar dilution rates and plume trajectory and spreading resulting from the latter.
