Accuracy Strategies in Radiotherapyimpact on the effectiveness of radiotherapy. In order to develop strategies to improve the accuracy and hence effectiveness of radiotherapy it is therefore first needed to assess required and achievable uncertainties of all steps involved. Only based on such data strategies for improvements can be developed.

Nomenclature in Radiotherapy introduced. Finally, the nomenclature for the specification of dose distribution is introduced using the concept of the ICRU reference point. The criteria how to select this point is demonstrated using simple examples of different treatment plans.
