Identification, Presentation and Viewing of Radiographs,l the information required should be seen in the image without the attendant problems of inadequate centring and a radiation beam area which is either too large or too small. It is all too easy to neglect these aspects in a busy, overworked department, which leads to a general decline in imaging standards and results.

Cassettes,films when exposed, or a roll of film. An exception to this is the xerographic cassette which contains not film, but a selenium-coated aluminium plate. Here the image is formed as a charge pattern on the selenium and only transferred to a paper image during the processing stage; this is discussed more fully in Chapter 15.

Imaging Techniques and Processes, to now have either not been mentioned or only briefly touched upon. These techniques include macroradiography, stereoradiography, tomography, xeroradiography, ionography and photofluorography. These will also be discussed.
