‘Fellowship is Heaven’The story returns now to the 1880s and the years before Harold’s marriage to Grace. ‘The Fellowship of the New Life’ is flourishing in Thornton Heath. Then in the late 1890s, Henry Cash, a keen yachtsman, sails off the coast of England. On several occasions, he is joined on board by Walter Reeve and later, by Grace and Harold.

Answering the CallEvangelist William Reeve marries Emily Parker and in 1869 they make an arduous journey to the Canadian Arctic to work as missionaries. Life is hard, especially for Emily. Walter is born here in 1876, and he is their fifth child.

A Place to Begin AgainAfter Grace has left her clothes on a beach in Brittany, she and Walter embark on a new life together. They journey to Australia and then on to New Zealand which, at the time, is being actively promoted as a ‘paradise’. Walter works briefly as a medical locum in Wellington and Grace makes her first formal appearance as his wife.
