Numerical Simulations of Nonlinear Modes in Mica: Past, Present and Futuremonstrate fully two dimensional scattering of such pulses for the first time. For large interatomic forces we observe a spreading horseshoe-shaped wave, a type of shock wave but with a breather profile.
