Heisenberg-Langevin and Master Equations Approaches to the Statistical Properties of Radiation Inteld with an infinite reservoir boson system (the quantum theory of damping). Then we consider the interaction of the electromagnetic field with a system of two-level atoms. The methods presented in this chapter will be applied to description of radiation in random and nonlinear media in Chapters 8 and 10.

At present, many papers are available in which these general methods are applied to various problems, mostly in instrumental optics.
