Ist durch Anamnese und Untersuchung erwiesen, daß die Prognose infaust ist, werden keine Therapien mehr neu angesetzt, die das Leben nur um kurze Zeit verlängern. So wird ein marantischer Karzinompatient, der bewußtlos ist, nicht mehr stationär eingewiesen. Mit den Angehörigen wird offen geredet.
