Donor-Acceptor-Substituted Cyclopropanes via Fischer Carbene Complexes,lopropanes in good yields. Scope and limitations of this -cycloaddition are described. Certain α,β-unsaturated nitriles suffer an insertion of the carbene into the C=N-bond to give new vinyl-substituted carbene complexes. The mechanism of this insertion reaction as well as that of the -cycloaddition are discussed.
