Separation Energies of Nucleon Pairsplotted in various ways. .. is used to designate the separation energy of a neutron pair and is given here only for even-. nuclei. .. designates the separation energy of a proton pair and is given only for even-. nuclei. Thus the pair separation energies presented always pertain to two nucleons in the same orbit.

Empirical Separation Energies and the BCS Pairing Theoryle three-dimensional scheme.. Our aim is to check this experimental behaviour numerically with the help of explicit shell-model calculations.
