Rudist Evolution and Extinction — A North African PerspectiveThe aims of this contribution are first to summarize current knowledge of the global pattern of rudist evolution and possible influences on it, and then to comment briefly on pertinent aspects of the North African record.

Cretaceous Coral-Rudist Formations in TunisiaThe extensive shallow marine carbonate deposits were rich in rudists formations especially since the Aptian. Sometimes, algae, sponges, corals, and rudists were associated. Many Cretaceous coral-rudist formations illustrate a biological zonation.

Stratigraphic and Geographic Distribution of Rudists in Algeria: A State of the Art be the best area for rudist platform study, as it has been a high domain, sheltered from siliciclastic sedimentation, from the Neocomian to the Turonian. Algerian palaeogeography, during the Late Cretaceous, was globally unfavourable for rudist development, but some rudist levels appear where local topography facilitated their development.

Cretaceous — Paleogene Sequence Stratigraphy of the Levant Platform (Egypt, Sinai, Jordan) to interprete a total number of 35 third-order depositional sequences, some of which have been amalgamated locally. Comparisons of our sea level charts with those from neighbouring platforms indicate several mismatches that may be due to local uplift, subsidence, or increasing clastic input.
