Ultrasonic NDE of Advanced Ceramicsdel matrices (glass, crystallized glass and partially stabilized zirconia). Actual frequency spectra obtained from these defects as a function of defect size are compared with their calculated spectra based on scattering theory and very good agreement is obtained.

Recognition of Fracture Modes and Behaviour of Composites by Acoustic Emissionentation systems enable more detailed recognition of fracture mechanism in composites by multi-dimensional analysis. We are applying the systems for tensile tests on GFRP specimens and obtaining results of good recognition between fracture modes.

Tomodensitometry with X- and Gamma-Rayshe two tomographs developed at BAM especially for materials testing. The density resolution is about 1%..Applications on concrete, powder metallurgical partsand ceramics are given. The last two groups of materials are compared for the green and sintered state.
