Jerky flow, stick-slip in geological materials and earthquake models, to those on the Portevin-Le Chatelier effect (PLC). The stress drops in geological materials under different loading conditions and their occurrence within a window of values of temperature and deformation rates have their analogues in the PLC. Dynamics and structure of displacement fronts in two-dimensional porous media,e capillary forces govern the dispacement, and fast injection rates, where viscous forces dominate the process..At low constant injection rates the dynamics is investigated by measuring the pressure fluctuations in the displaced fluid. These fluctuations exhibit sudden jumps that identify bursts whecollagenase 发表于 2025-3-25 13:36:16
Heterogeneous porous media: Fronts and noise, simulations of slow drainage in 3-D porous media, either homogeneous and in the presence of buoyancy or heterogeneous and in its absence. An acoustic technique allows for an accurate study of the 3-D fronts and the cross-over region. Our results suggest that both cases can be described by invasion p腐蚀 发表于 2025-3-25 16:11:22

Solvable models of material breakdown, reakdown is illustrated by a review of the work of Duxbury, Leath and Beale on simple analytically solvable models of fuse network breakdown in brittle systems. We then review recent work extending this analytically to include close pairs of clusters of defects or double clusters, which also exhibitcravat 发表于 2025-3-26 01:27:09

Spring-network and finite-element models for elasticity and fracture,d on networks of springs and finite-element discretizations. When the length scale of elements in the numerical model corresponds to discrete material elements, spring-network approaches are valid. Their validity as models for a continuous medium is examined by comparing to a finite-volume discretiznotion 发表于 2025-3-26 09:31:59

Laboratory simulation of dielectric breakdown, behavior of an insulator which cannot stand a voltage higher than a threshold and is transformed in a conductor. We show that the breakdown voltage behaves as the minimum insulation gap. We determined the pattern of the breakdown path made by all the broken insulators, at the breakdown voltage.云状 发表于 2025-3-26 17:32:19
Fracture roughness and physical implications,it a self-affine character. Moreover, the roughness exponent which characterizes this self-affinity appears to be universal. In this paper, we analyse some physical consequences of this property. The examples we consider concern the permeability of a crack, a percolation transition through long-rang
