Soil Redox Potential in Presence of Azospirillumith a lower quantity of reducing equivalents in the inoculated soil with respect to control soil. The N.O poten tial production (DEC, Denitrifier Enzyme Concentration) was 6 times higher in control soil and the CO. 3 times higher in inoculated soil.

Phyllospheric Nitrogen Fixing Bacteria in Tillandsia Leaves on leaves put on enrichment cultures only. Bacillus and Pseudomonas were observed to be the predominant bacteria on the leaves, but other genera as Erwinia sp., Agrobacterium sp., Vibrio sp., Xanthomonas sp. and Rhanella sp. were found. Among all the isolates only Bacillus megaterium fixed nitrogen

The effect of some terrestrial oligochaeta on nitrogenase activity in the soilorms. The worms and casts were separately assayed for nitrogenase activity. The results indicated that nitrogenase activity was associated with gut content or body surface of worms and also their casts. Nitrogen fixation was also enhanced in soils enriched with enchytraeids in the presence of leaf litter.

Characterization of a Mutant of , Resistant to some Fungicides fixing bacteria have been proved to be affected by these agrochemicals (i.e. Captan, Carboxin at concentration of 50 – 100 μg/ml and up), thus being discriminated in the early stage of root colonization.
