The Mahalanobis Distance for Feature Selection Using Genetic Algorithms: An Application to BCI, that has been proven to be an effective strategy. In this paper, a new method using Mahalanobis distance as a fitness function is introduced. The performance of the proposed method is investigated and compared with the state-of-the-art methods.

Monte Carlo Sampling for the Probabilistic Orienteering Problem,d. We show that the evaluation based on Monte Carlo Sampling is fast and suitable to be used inside heuristic solvers. Monte Carlo Sampling is also used as a decisional tool to heuristically understand how many of the customers of a tour can be effectively visited before the given deadline is incurred.
