Incorporation of an Actuator Disc for Lattice Wing Modelling in an unstructured Navier-Stokes Solverce wing as a function of its geometrical characteristics. The numerical results obtained for a lattice wing alone are compared with experimental data for different Mach numbers and angles of attack in order to validate the method.

Large Transport Aircraft Wake Vortex Affected by Vortex Deviceswnstream of the model. Results obtained include velocity, vorticity and turbulence intensity fields. The measured data are evaluated in order to establish and test possible wake vortex strength alleviation strategies.

Numerical Study of Four-Vortex Aircraft Wakes a strong inner vortex pair. The investigation shows that a strong inner pair is necessary for the instability to cause a large increase of vortex radii of the outer vortex pair. This increase in turn leads to a rapid decay of rolling moment.

Analysis of the Oblique Flying Wing Concept’s Aerodynamic Potential by Means of Parameterization anderties of these geometries have been calculated with a higher order panel method. A parallel genetic algorithm has been developed and applied to determine geometries with optimized lift to drag ratios under realistic constraints concerning the total aircraft size and the available cabin space.

Integrated Design of Installed Engine Nacelles Using an Inverse Design Methodod is based on an iterative residual-correction type approach and attempts to generate a geometry which satisfies a user-prescribed target pressure distribution. Results are presented for the inverse design of isolated and wing-mounted engine nacelles under consideration of the pylon.
