Conclusions,tories are the direct consequence of the modernization strategy of the party, first started by Kinnock after the 1983 general election, continued by Smith in 1992 and 1993, and then given a further boost by Blair from 1994 onwards. The political strategy which these leaders argued and fought for within the party paid rich dividends.
