General Sensory Systems,efers to such things as pain, thermal sensation, touch and pressure etc. Other sensory systems are concerned with various special senses, such as vision, olfaction and hearing. Special senses are, of course, part of the function of some of the cranial nerves.

Hypothalamus,itary gland in the sella is attached to the inferior aspect of the hypothalamus by the pituitary stalk. The superior surface of the hypothalamus forms the inferior limit of the third ventricle, the infundibular recess of which extends a short distance into the infundibular portion of the pituitary stalk where it attaches to the hypothalamus.
