Optic Neuritis The local hospital records showed the visual acuity was 0.05 (20/400) OD and then oral prednisone 60 mg/day was given. He found the visual acuity slightly improved during the following week, and meantime he was referred to our neuro-ophthalmology clinic for further evaluation.

Toxic Optic Neuropathyus pleuritic and treatment medications including ethambutol were given for 3 months. The dosage of ethambutol was 750 mg bid, together with regular dosage of rifampin and isoniazid. He also complained numbness of limbs when decreased vision happened. His physician referred him for neuro-ophthalmological evaluation.
