Friction Force Measurements on Graphite Steps under Potential Control,ment and under potential control. With the experimental setup described we monitored topography and friction at steps on the HOPG surface in various electrolytes. The behavior of friction at steps indicates that the contrast is due to a change in interaction between tip and sample and no artifact of
