Heat Production During Thermophilic Decomposition of Municipal Wastes in the Dano-System Composting rial. The method of closed jars for determining CO. production was used. The temperature of composting material in the biostabiliser was measured twice every day in 1998 and 1999. A few times the temperature was measured over a period of 24 h. Characterisation of Microbial Communities During Composting of Organic Wastesure significantly decreased with age. Principal component analysis and discriminant analysis showed distinctly different patterns of carbon source utilisation of the different composts. Five substrates were identified that significantly contributed to the difference in CLPPs.
