The Detection of Lignin acid. Color reactions have since found widespread use in the detection and identification of lignin and several have also been adapted for use in the quantitative determination of lignin. Isolation of Lignin from Pulpwood. The main difference between the two procedures is that chemical pulp, unlike wood, is digestible by cellulolytic enzymes without ball-milling. Consequently, this method provides an ideal method for the isolation of the residual lignin in chemical pulps without structural modification.
