Ozone in Forest Stands - Examinations to its Occurence and Degradationevels in the forests decrease only slightly. Vertical concentration gradients are determined in forest stands. At ground level inside the forest stand, the degradation of ozone is observed during night time which may be caused by NO exhalation from the soil. During sunny day hours, especially in summer, ozone is produced above the tree canopy.

Dry Deposition of Atmoshperic Particles to an Old Spruce Standities fall in the range of 1 cm/sec and indicate a minimum at a particle diameter of about 2–5 μm. These results support, therefore, high deposition velocities for canopies with a rough surface and a high leave area index.

Deposition of Gaseous Pollutants in a Douglas Fir Forest: First Results of the Aciforn Project be quite low and comparable to the general levels in the Dutch countryside. NH. reached up to hourly values of 60 .g/m. at an average of 5 .g/m. for the summer of 1988. For O. some peaks up to 240 .g/m. were found during clear summer days, exceeding critical levels for damage to sensitive plant species.
