Discussion made during the span of half a century. Since all this material has resulted in an error of 0″.25 for the height of Mösting A, I believe that we cannot expect much more for other points measured only a few times on photographs taken only recently.

Instead the selenodetic coordinates are referred to a visible point on the lunar surface as origin.

Note on a Photometric Determination of the Moon’s Form from Eclipse Observations is located close to this face, rotating with the prism and oriented normally to the limbs of the Sun and the Moon. A field lens, following the slit, forms an image of the objective on the photocathode of a photomultiplier, and the photocurrent is recorded between the second and third contacts of the eclipse.

Investigating the Moon’s Motion by Laser Rangingata processing techniques.
