A Generalized “Discounting the Background” Model Extending the Traditional Grassmannian Approach to ies-type multiplicative transformations for increments and decrements. Due to the qualitative laws implied, the model is particularly attractive from a measurement-theoretic ‘Grassmannian’ perspective. Some empirical and theoretical aspects of the model are briefly discussed.

Current Directions in Mathematical Learning Theory theorem is that any partial recursive function can be asymptotically learned by a register learning model. In the discussion of this result the emphasis is on the need for a carefully organized hierarchy of concepts in order to have a rate of learning that is realistic for either organisms or machines.
