General Considerations about Bone and Soft Tissue TumorsMedical imaging and histopathology are both essential in the study of musculoskeletal neoplasms. The complementarity of both methods has been stressed to the best by R.Freiberger in his article “Thoughts on the Diagnosis of Bone Tumors” (7). OsteochondromaOsteochondroma or osteocartilaginous exostosis is the most common benign tumor of bone. It may be solitary or multiple (hereditary multiple exostoses). The tumor manifests itself during adolescence or childhood. There is no difference in sex incidence. Metaphysis of long tubular bones is the most common localization.
