Other Lives and Radical Perspectives: Witnessing the Suicide, Witnessing the Mad,uicide. It rejects notions of witnessing as passivity, or simply sight, or simply a shifted form of spectatorship. Drawing upon the thought of Jacques Derrida, Jean-François Lyotard, Shoshana Felman and Dori Laub, I note how suicide requires new conceptual imaginations of witnessing and suggest modes by which this can occur in performance.
