Investigation of the Spectral-Luminescence Properties of Ruby as Active Laser Medium,aviolet region, refine the mechanism of quantum losses in the photoexcitation of ruby, and propose a model of the energy band structure. The influence of the color centers on the Cr. spectrum and on the laser characteristics was considered.

Application of the Polarization Diagram Method to Studies of Uniaxial Crystals,e axis with the dipole. This model was checked against the results of an investigation of the blue luminescence centers in zinc sulfide. Differences were found between the statistical weights of radiators oriented at different angles with respect to the stacking fault plane.
