Richard Wagner, Love, and Death, April 28, 1849, the individual German monarchs considered the revolution over. Local radicals disagreed and turned to violence across Germany. In Dresden, in the Kingdom of Saxony, radicals took to the barricades, where Prussian troops confronted them in battle from May 5–9, killing over 250.
