Effects of the lipid intervention in the Stanford Coronary Risk Intervention Projectge from entry to four-year follow-up angiograms in minimum lumen diameter of diseased segments in 245 subjects was analysed in relation to hypolipidaemic medication and lipid-related risk factors. Greater disease progression was associated with non-use of hypolipidaemic drugs and higher blood glucose and insulin levels.
