Critical Stylistics,This chapter starts with presenting a working definition of the term ‘ideology’ which is needed for detecting underlying ideologies in the reportage on crime. In the second part, the framework of Critical Stylistics and its textual–conceptual functions are introduced which provide the means for identification of ideological meaning in such texts.
