GDNF Family Signalling in Exocrine Tissues: Distinct Roles for GDNF and Neurturin in Parasympatheticoup in the transforming growth factor-β superfamily. Lipase mRNAs Expressed in Lacrimal and Harderian Glandss aqueous evaporation and protects the ocular surface from environmental irritants. The lacrimal glands supply the bulk of the ocular tear fluid phase, as well as many dissolved proteins. The meibomian glands of the eyelid secrete the lipids. Harderian glands of non-primate vertebrates secrete proteins and lipids.
