Crystal Growth in Ceramic Powders,rate law as derived from thermodynamic and kinetic considerations. In all cases which were investigated agreement was good. It may be concluded that crystal growth in crystalline systems is governed by the theoretical rate law with the kinetic factor .. depending on the material, the area of contact, and on temperature.

Emphasis is placed on the need for further research on problems of the corrosion of such materials as glasses, ceramics, plastics, and natural and synthetic stones, as well as on the need for interdisciplinary cooperation to help combat these problems.
