Einleitung: Kindheit in Armut weltweiteiche und (Armuts-)Daten wahrnahmen, war das primäre Motiv zur Auseinandersetzung mit diesem Gebiet die moralische Betroffenheit und Empörung und das Gefühl, das auch der Generalsekretär der Vereinten Nationen, Kofi Annan, mit den Worten zum Ausdruck brachte: „Es gibt nur wenige weitere Abgründe, in die die Menschheit noch versinken kann“.
