Electrochemical Systems in Energy Conversion and Storagetrical energy into chemical energy. To-day this definition covers only a part of the problems of electrochemistry and is not all-embracing. But it correctly reflects the fact that for nearly 200 years electrochemical processes of energy conversion have been playing an exceptional role in science and technology.
