Von der Schwierigkeit professioneller Standards in der Sozialen Arbeit,einer einheitlichen Idee des Pädagogischen nicht mehr ausgegangen werden könne, noch nie ausgegangen werden konnte. So kritisiert er z.B. Forderungen wie die von Nohl, dass der wahre Ausgangspunkt einer allgemeinen Theorie der Bildung die Tatsache der Erziehungswirklichkeit als die eines sinnvollen Ganzen sei.
