Die neuerliche Koalition von CDU, CSU und FDP: mehr Freiheit durch weniger soziale Sicherheit, Gleiachten aus ihrer großkoalitionären Gesinnung kein Hehl und gingen im Bundestagswahlkampf 2009 sehr behutsam miteinander um. Nicht zuletzt daher litt dieser unter „Langeweile“, mangelte es doch an kontroversen Themen und inhaltlicher Zuspitzung seitens der beiden größten Parteien.
