The Nāgara-Kertāgama Colophonserseded by later ones. Certainly the two Nāg. colophons of codex 5023 are not by the same author. The first colophon’s survival is a consequence of its mentioning the name Nāgara-Kĕrtāgama by which the poem has been called ever since.

Introduction, the Royal Family of Majapahit about 1350 A.D.The introduction at the beginning of the first chapter of the Nāgara-Kĕrtāgama consists of one canto of five stanzas. The first two stanzas are a doxology of the Deity and the last three stanzas are in praise of King Rājasa Nagara who is identified with the Deity.

Gajah Mada’s Death in 1364. The New OfficialsCantos 71 and 72 are the concluding ones of the Court Chronicle that begins with canto 17. In canto 94 the year 1365 is mentioned as the date of the poem’s completion. Just like the first 16 cantos of the poem the last 26 ones mainly contain descriptions and information on Court life and the condition of the country.
