Mullion and rodding structures, telegraph poles to those of walking sticks, lie parallel to each other down the dip slope of the Moine Schists. Where minerals of elongated habit like hornblende or biotite are present in the rocks showing mullion or rodding structure the crystals are arranged parallel to each other and to the dip and plunge of the folds.

Superposed minor structures,inor structures. If, therefore, we observe that one set of minor structures regularly deforms another we have an indication that more than one movement has taken place. Then, if we can link these minor structures with their respective major structures, we will have taken a long step in the elucidation of the tectonic history of our area.
