Sarcoidosis,Besnier called these lupus pernio. Sir Jonathan Hutchinson of London, between 1889 and 1899, described some cases of a certain skin condition. A Mrs Mortimer had the most conspicuous lesions of these cases and, for a while, the condition was called Mortimer’s disease.
