Towards OpenGIS Systemsandled in their software. The fact that deflections exist should encourage a more in depth study of the OpenGIS Data Model Architecture in order to capture all occurrences of geometric phenomena. A first contribution was made by examining geometries in the Dutch Topographic Map scale 1 : 10.000.

Identifying Semantically Similar Elements in Heterogeneous Spatial Databases Using Predicate Logic Ered to determine the similarities and differences between the elements. This information can be used to develop a set of semantically similar elements, and then to resolve representational conflicts between the elements prior to integration.

Semantic and Geometric Aspects of Integrating Road Networksdefined elements, a strategy for finding equivalent or corresponding road network elements has been developed. This forms the basis for processing and propagating updates in the road network from one database to the other database.

What Are Sports Grounds?ast in the case of noise abatement, and that available data sets do not contain the necessary usage information. Furthermore, we show that the available geometric data only become useful when several sources are combined: interoperability is required to map between data and user semantics.
